Hello to all,
Let me take this opportunity to thank you for your support again this year. It is my pleasure to be elected/acclaimed as your Regional Director for Niagara.
As most of you know the AGM was this past weekend and here are the results of the Elections.
Floyd Porter was acclaimed as Vice President.
Jill Perry was acclaimed as Corporate Secretary.
Tom Henessey was acclaimed as Director of Marketing
Director of Finance went to a vote. Keri Ireland and Joe Leblanc ran for this Position. Joe Leblanc was elected to a one year term due to the Resignation of Steve Lemmon.
I (Sonny Wong ) was acclaimed as Director Of Officials.
It was a long meeting and many new items were brought to the table. Niagara Falls Boxing Club had three amendments for approval. They were all defeated by the Board .
There was not a very good turnout from the Niagara Region. Only three of eleven clubs were represented at the AGM.
This organization will succeed with more open communication.
I will try my best to represent you, but you will have to let me know what you want.
I heard a criticism for not attending the Regional meeting. I was out of the Country but I have always been available by email, telephone, or through Boxing Ontario. I can only do what you want if you tell me what it is.
The Region had 16 club shows this past year….down slightly from last year. The shows that did run were successful and I am confident we will improve our numbers .
The Niagara Region also ran Provincial Cadets, thanks to HUF, 3 Developmental Tournaments, thanks to Joe Corrigan, and National Seniors in St Catharines, thanks again to Joe.
