POSITION: VP Competition
Job Description:
The VP Competitions will be responsible for overseeing all of the major tournaments & Corporate Shows hosted by Boxing Ontario.
Provides liaison to Boxing Ontario on Competition-related issues
Work with the VP Technical to ensure all tournaments are run properly.
Work to ensure that bids for tournaments are sent out in a timely fashion.
Handles Coordination of Provincial Competition Calendar, including Championships
Will also be responsible for all appeals of disciplinary sanctions.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Serves on Selection Committee for Nationals and Quest4gold
Familiar with CABA, Boxing Ontario and AIBA competition rules and standards.
Able to work well with a wide variety of people.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Qualifications and Experience:
Previous experience working in Ontario’s sport system would be an asset.
Familiar with event direction, course setting, mapping, and controlling at local and provincial events.
Knowledge of Boxing LTAD/CS4L and NCCP would be an asset.
Will also be responsible for all appeals of disciplinary sanctions and as such has some experience in this area.
Perform such other duties from time to time as established by the Board of Directors.

POSITION: VP Technical
Job Description:
Boxing Ontario requires a Technical Director for this 2 year term position. The successfully elected board member will be responsible for the overall coordination of all Technical Programs.
The Technical Director reports directly to board and works closely with the Executive Director, Provincial Coach, Provincial Official and VP of Competitions.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Serves on Team Selection Committee for Quest4Gold
Implements the policies as set by the Board of Directors regarding coaching, officiating, Athlete development and all other relevant programs.
Responsible for all aspects of the technical program including yearly training and competition plans including budgeting, and working on grants for all related programs.
Acts as a liaison between Boxing Ontario and Boxing Canada for all matters relating to the technical program.
Co-ordinates the organization of coaching, officiating and athlete development courses, clinics, camps and the evaluation of those events.
Responsible for updating athletes, officials, coaches on current qualifications and any needed upgrades.
Supports staff on inputting athlete, coaching and officiating information into the data base and updates information regularly. Orders technical resources and updates inventory regularly.
Liaising on the operation of corporate shows, tournaments & Provincials with the VP Competitions.
Work with the Executive Director to ensure that bids for tournaments are sent out in a timely fashion.
